I am a research scientist in the Ads Science team at Yahoo Labs in Sunnyvale, CA. My research at Yahoo is at the intersection of human-computer interaction (HCI), data science, and applied machine learning. In particular, it focuses on understanding users using BIG data for developing predictive models and ad recommendation systems. Before joining Yahoo! I was a postdoctoral researcher in the hcilab group at the University of Stuttgart. I was awarded my Ph.D. from University of Stuttgart under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Albrecht Schmidt. My Ph.D. research was at the crossroads of ubiquitous computing (Ubicomp) and HCI focused at understanding user interaction with mobile devices through carrying out large-scale studies in the wild.
